As a Portfolio Manager and Financial Planner at Encore Financial, my primary responsibilities revolve around handling portfolio management for the firm. This includes conducting investment research, developing models, managing risk, designing portfolios, and making tactical shifts as needed. Additionally, I provide comprehensive financial planning services to my clients, with a particular focus on retirement and goal-based planning. With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, I have developed a deep understanding of portfolio management and financial planning.
Throughout my journey in financial services, I have gained valuable experience working at esteemed institutions such as JRA Financial, US Bank Asset Management, and Thrivent. In 2004, I obtained the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, as well as licenses for life and health insurance, further enhancing my expertise. Prior to beginning my career, I attended the University of Minnesota at Duluth.
What I find most fulfilling about my job is the perfect blend of rigorous research, number crunching, and analysis, coupled with the rewarding aspect of being an advisor. Seeing my research and recommendations positively impact people's lives is truly gratifying. I firmly believe in simplifying complex financial concepts and providing clarity to my clients, enabling them to make informed decisions. The challenge of tracking market movements and forecasting the direction of the economy is something I thoroughly enjoy. I actively make changes to portfolios to ensure they are optimally positioned for success. Witnessing individuals achieve their financial goals and attain financial independence brings me great satisfaction.
Outside of work, I reside in Maple Grove, Minnesota with my wife and our two children, Hana and Isaac. When I'm not serving my clients, I actively engage in community involvement. I currently hold the position of President at the Eagle Lake Preservation Association (ELPA) and serve as the Vice President of the Osseo Baseball Booster Club. In my free time, I indulge in my passion for woodworking, running my own business on the side. Specializing in hardwood gifts, crafts, and games, I take great pleasure in seeing my woodworking projects come to life. I also enjoy various physical activities like weightlifting, basketball, and volleyball. Additionally, I have a love for boating, playing music, and am an occasional golfer.
